Slowly Recovers from FloodsTorrential downpours that sparked flash floods and landslides have pummeled Northwest China. The Gansu Province suffered an enormous mudslide that killed over 700 people and left thousands homeless. In the light of day, the People's Liberation Army was dispatched to help rescue people that were still stranded. Tents are also being shipped to the area as well as food and water.Source: Tasty Lionfish InvasionGetting rid of lionfish in the Atlantic Ocean has never tasted so sweet. Scientists with NOAA are encouraging people to start fishing and eating lionfish as a viable solution to the invasive species. Lionfish apparently taste similar to snapper and grouper. NOAA is also encouraging chefs to invent recipes to compliment the fish.Lionfish are a popular aquarium species because of their striped bodies with butterfly-esque venomous spines. They are native to the Pacific and thought to have been released into the Atlantic in the 1980's. The lionfish population has exploded threatening the delicate ecosystem of reefs.Source: 's Best Friend Lead to Human EvolutionA paleontologist at Penn State University says that human evolution happened because man domesticated animals. It's not just that we domesticated the competition, like wolves and dogs, but also goats, cows, and horses. Another big factor in human evolution was switching to a meat-based diet.
